Just call me Slacker Whisenhunt!

So this will be a shorter update, but I will get some pictures up soon!

Things in our house have been a bit crazy for the past few months but loving it now!  Matt quit working at Design to Print and started working from home for a company based in Washington DC.   They have been very good to him (and us) so far!  Its been so awesome to have Matt in the house even though its a real challenge for me to not bug him while he is working.

Lilah is officially 11 months old and plans for her first birthday are in the works.  She has been such an incredible blessing in our lives, I can't really remember what life was like with out my Squeak!  She has 8 teeth and number 9 is working its way through.  Its a molar though and I feel so bad for her little swollen gum!  She is a trooper though, she really handles it so well!  She is up to 3 or 4 steps on her own but still drops down to her knees for safety.  She especially does so if we give her a cracker or something, she can't multi task yet.  :)   She is also into story telling right now, I just wish I had an idea of what she was saying.  Sometimes she makes little sound effects, or starts laughing.  I know the stories must be great so I just play along with her.  Nod and agree a lot and laugh when she does.
I love this picture, we gave a copy of it to Cheryl for her birthday.  Just something about it is so great to me.

So that's about all that is going on lately.  Well, anything of note and worth typing about.  More pictures to come!!

Hello June!

So this last month was pretty great!  Lilah is sitting up on her own now!  Well she will balance if we sit her- she can't pull to a sitting position yet- but she is trying.

Matt and I have stuck to our new weight watchers program.  I love it!  It's so great to have him to help me stay motivated.  May was pretty successful I lost 18.4 lbs! It's been pretty great to see the numbers go down and I am now below the weight I used to hover at in my early 20's!

Matt's family came up to see us last weekend so we headed to the park to play in the water.  Lilah did not love all of the kids running around but since she loves baths I am sure it's just a matter of time before we have our own water baby!

I received a new calling- I teach the 4 year olds in Primary!  I was a bit apprehensive since any of you who know me also know that little kids were not a professed favorite of mine.  But, I am being blessed and humbled by their presence each week!  They are so amazing!  I can't believe some of the things they already know and they are just bursting to share it.  It's hard to get through the lesson sometimes.  :)

We've gone through some trials this month and I can see my life being shaped and feel that I am being refined.  I'm grateful for the Gospel, for my Testimony and my amazing family and friends!

What a great day!

Today was amazing, Matt and I finally made it to the church to help with the Saturday cleaning.  I felt so terrible when we missed our turn last week because I didn't know what time to show up!  After that Danielle came to babysit Lilah so Matt and I could go see our first movie since before Lilah was born.  We saw the new Pirates movie.  I loved it!  Characters you already know and love but in a whole new story!  It was super!  Then we spent a few minutes with Danielle before she had to head off for her busy life!  But, in the meantime we got this amazing picture of the Squeak!

I sure love that little girl! Today was momentous because this is the first time she has been able to stay sitting up on her own.  She did tip a few times but it was really exciting when she was able to catch herself and stay balanced!  She is also able to roll from her tummy to her back;  but since she doesn't love being on her tummy it's hard to get her to go the other way.  She is getting so big and every day is an adventure to see what she is going to do next!

I was called to teach the 4 year olds in Primary at church.  Last week was my first official week of it, and I am excited to see if they remember much from the lesson last week.

Matt and I had an opportunity recently to renew our testimonies of tithing.  I'm so grateful for the blessings and peace that come when paying an honest tithe.

That's about all that is new for us for now.  I'm still getting used to this blog thing and deciding what kinds of things to include.

Time for some big changes!

Yesterday Matt and I made it through our first day on the Weight Watchers program!  It really wasn't too bad, it's nice to be looking at portions and taking control of what I eat or don't eat.  We even went for a 40 minute walk with Lilah, which was amazing!  The weather was perfect for a walk!

Lilah finally cut through that second tooth after a really crummy night on Sunday.  In celebration she napped for 4 hours in the afternoon yesterday and then slept all night!  In fact, as I type this I am listening for her to wake, nothing yet!

We had a fun week last week, especially after Thursday.  We drove down to Las Vegas on Thursday night to stay with Matt's parents.  Matt had a convention on Friday that everyone from work was going to attend.  We decided to save him some sleep time by driving down early.  Well, it was almost a perfect plan- the guys from work had to complete a project to deliver in Vegas before they went to the convention, so finally Matt heard from them after 2 pm that they were at the convention.  He dropped me off at Leane's house and then decided that since the convention ended at 5 he wouldn't make it there in enough time to be worth it.  So, he did what any normal person would do, he decided to test drive a $40,000 car!  I love this man!  He shows up at Leane's house in a cherry red Dodge Challenger.

The weekend went great with Matt's family and then we were home again.  It always goes by so fast!  I'm glad we got to play with Leane and Ted!  That little boy is adorable!!  (yes, two exclamation marks)  So here we are looking forward to the rest of the week, tracking, always tracking!

Jumping on the bandwagon!

This is my first blog entry,  it's pretty crazy because I never thought I would end up blogging.  After looking at some others though I realized the benefits, journaling+ scrapbooking all in one place!  I love it!

Things are pretty mellow at the Whisenhunt house these days, Lilah is just over 4 months old and already has her first tooth (pictures soon to follow, if I can get her to keep her mouth open long enough)!

Matt and I have set a goal to do something fun each Saturday so I will talk about that quite a bit on here I am sure.  I am definitely looking forward to all of those things.  Being a stay at home mom is pretty great, but I sure do love the time with Matt!
